Apparently, even after they let you go, some bosses think it's ok to reach out to ex-employees with a business question.
That's right. Joe (names have been changed to protect the innocent), was let go by his company almost a year ago. Then his old boss reached out to him. Not to find out how he was doing or to offer any help, but to ask Joe if he remembered why they had made the decision to switch vendors for their SEO programs. He needed to provide an explanation to his boss, and he just couldn't remember the reason why they switched. Really? Joe immediately had several choice crabby responses (and several wrong ones) to send but eventually he decided to take the higher road and told (reminded) his ex-boss why the decision had been made. All he got for his thoughtfulness and help was "Are you sure?" Joe responded, "Yes." And after that there was no other communication. No thank you, no nothing. Bosses sure can be sh!tty!
